Travel to Europe - How to Save Money PDF Print E-mail

Travel to the romantic and scenic Europe
is a great dream of many people. But the high expenditure always prevents most people from stepping into the land of Europe. Now, there is a wonderful news for these people, the exchange of rate has made it a cheaper trip to Europe.

Presently, the dollar has increased about 10 percent against the euro and 5 percent against the pound. While the 0.75 euros you can now get for $1 is well below the 1.2 euros travelers had to spend on croissants and cappuccinos in late 2000, it is an improvement over the measly 0.63 euros the dollar bought at its 2008 low.

That means you'll save more than $100 on four nights at a hotel that costs 200 euros a night, and a 28 euro train ticket from Rome to Florence will cost $37 instead of $41 — small change in some cases, but the savings add up over a 10-day vacation.

According to travel executives and industry analysts, the strengthening dollar, combined with fading panic over the economy and Americans' fondness for cobblestone streets and Riviera promenades, has already contributed to an increase in bookings to Europe this summer.
That bullish leisure travel outlook meshes with double-digit increases in summer bookings to Europe, as reported by American Express, with London, Paris, Rome, Athens and Barcelona as the top five destinations so far.

The Airlines Reporting Corporation, which handles ticketing for most travel agencies in the United States, has seen about a 20 percent increase in the number of tickets sold through March for travel in May and June to Britain, France, Germany, Greece, Italy and Spain - sales that a company spokesman called "phenomenal."

Prices also vary depending on your destination. So, just do a good job in your budget and make a plan to visit the best scenic destination you can afford.

Take actions now! If you have thought about an exciting Europe travel, prepare for it at once!
