Yangtze cruise laundry service is available on all 4 and 5 star cruise ships, so you don't need to worry about running out of clean clothe. Chinese local ferries will not have laundry service available. You can fill the laundry request form, and put your clothes into the bag in the morning before you go out for the excursions. By the time you return to your cabin in the evening, your clothe shall be ready. The cost is about the same as hotels. Cruise ships like Victoria Cruises will charge from $8 to $20USD. However please note that there is no ironing boards in the cabin.

Many people travel china for about 2 weeks, the cruise ships on the Yangtze river are about 3 or 4 nights. A sample itinerary is Beijing (Great Wall) - Xian (Terracotta Warriors) - Yangtze River cruise 3 nights from Chongqing to Yichang (Three Gorges, and Three Gorges Dam) - Shanghai. Many find the 3 or 4 nights on-board are good time to relax; and a chance to do laundry.

The full capacity of the Yangtze cruise are around 250 passengers, if you have already accumulated lots of laundry to do, we suggest you do the day when you check-in. Otherwise it may take long to get your clothe back. Most of the cabins will not allow you to do laundry in the bathroom because the basin may not strong enough. Also hairdryer is not allowed to be used to dry the clothe yourself.  Michael Song Wu
